Peter Lacovara

Peter Lacovara is Head of Commercial at Floodbase, where he is responsible for the commercial and insurance application of Floodbase’s technology. Prior to joining Floodbase, Peter spent 10 years in the re/insurance business. Most recently, Peter was Alternative Risk Transfer Leader at Marsh, the world’s largest insurance broker, and was Center of Excellence Leader for Marsh’s Parametric insurance business in North America and the Caribbean. While at Marsh, Peter was responsible for developing creative solutions to unusual risk profiles, and developed a number of novel parametric insurance coverages for previously-uninsurable risk.

Peter's career began at Swiss Re, where he held a variety of roles spanning alternative risk finance, corporate strategy and development, and client management.

Among many interests, Peter enjoys mountaineering, camping, and photography, and in 2019 co-founded a social venture in Mongolia.
